Technology at the service of business

As part of the digital transformation processes at Cklass, the company sought to make its services more efficient. As? Migrating many of the company's existing solutions and processes to the cloud. “Obviously ensuring that technology is at the service of the business. The solution was G Suite because it basically meets the requirements of what a SaaS (software as a service) is: email, file server (file storage) and collaborative tools. These end user services are basic and require a lot of operation. Beyond having people and infrastructure trained to provide these services, we decided that it was more efficient to access a cloud service like G Suite,” says Pablo César Martínez Barrera, CTO of Cklass.

Cklass' business consists of catalog sales, with a network of around 300,000 commission affiliates, who buy the catalogs with discounts, to which they add a factor to obtain the profits they want. “So, obviously we have to digitize them, because our printed version catalogs weigh 7 kg. For this reason, every day more people come to our page (which has 1 million visits per month from unique users) just to show the catalogs. We want to integrate this transformation in favor of our affiliates with Google Cloud tools,” emphasizes Enrique Watanabe, the company's Operations Manager.

G Suite meets high standards of information security, connectivity and availability so that all services are enabled for use anytime, anywhere, and from multiple devices. These factors set the tone for the decision to adopt G Suite at Cklass.

Enabling the use of G Suite based on its competitive advantages

Prior to the adoption of G Suite, regarding email, Cklass had local servers to operate Exchange. This infrastructure had a cost of operational service and maintenance, a recurring license; All this because the service was on premise hosted in the company's own data center. That was the first service that it was decided would be more efficient to have in the cloud.

According to company executives, the growing adoption of G Suite Office Automation improved productivity standards among work teams. In the past, document management when sending, receiving emails, having to create new versions of the same file, was extremely inefficient, confusing and messy. In this regard, Martínez emphasizes: “With G Suite, I have been able to see the benefit of having common files in the cloud available ubiquitously from anywhere if you have the access, security and rights. In addition, you do not generate multiple copies, but rather you share the rights of who can access and update online and at the moment.”

Regarding the adoption of G Suite Office Automation, Martínez adds: “Although our collaborators had become accustomed to using Office tools and there was some resistance, thanks to Xertica and the workshops that we implemented, people began to use Docs, Sheets and Slides 100% in practically all areas of the organization.”

In the case of messaging (Hangouts) and videoconferencing (Meet), these reduce the costs associated with the logistics of meetings (transportation, man-hours lost in travel times from one place to another) and, as Martínez indicates, “ “It takes away the worry of hiring additional videoconferencing services.”

There are more and more tools that are being applied in Cklass. For example, in the human resources department, each recruiting process, from start to finish, is mounted on Google Sites. Cklass has defined its path towards digital transformation by associating with the world-class technology of Google Cloud, hand in hand with the Xertica partnership.
