The network of Xertica
Xertica's challenge was to enable digital communication channels that would in turn enhance the academic and administrative relations of the San Marcos community. Furthermore, an important part of the challenge was to promote the use and adaptation of these tools in daily work. For this, Xertica presented Google Workspace with Teaching and Learning to the institution, a tool that covers all the needs of the University.
The main objective was to optimize the times and processes of daily tasks, allowing teachers to make the most of the available tools.
During the pandemic we had a greater challenge in having to enable ourselves digitally very quickly. In 2022 we started a digital skills training plan to improve the skills of our teachers, students and administrators and this is where we began to have the support of Xertica. The implementation
With a clear vision of the importance of digital transformation, the university partnered with Xertica to address this challenge. The project was carried out in several stages:
1. License Acquisition: 3,600 Google Workspace licenses were implemented for university faculty. This measure was essential to enable a complete set of collaboration and productivity tools.
2. Teacher Survey: A comprehensive survey of teachers was conducted to identify their needs and expectations regarding the new licenses and the training sessions required for their training. This feedback was crucial to personalize the approach and adapt the solutions to the specific demands of the university.
3. Customized Training: Xertica designed and developed 40 knowledge transfer sessions aimed at teachers, administrators and students. These sessions provided complete training on the efficient use of Google Workspace, allowing participants to acquire the necessary skills to maximize their productivity and improve the virtual work experience by enhancing the teaching and learning process.
The University has had 7 training programs in conjunction with the Xertica team. We learned the use of tools, notably those of shared documents and collaborative work, always with the support of Xertica. added the head of the virtual education office.
4. Live Sessions for Mass Training: To ensure mass participation and availability of learning resources, live sessions were held where teachers could interact directly with Xertica experts. These sessions allowed us to resolve doubts, share good practices and promote collaboration between participants.
5. YoAprendoApps: It is Xertica's learning platform where the institution can find tutorials for all GWS functions and which allows users to learn at their own pace.
Results and Benefits
The strategic collaboration between the Universidad Nacional Mayor de San Marcos del Perú and Xertica has generated a series of significant results and benefits, which have positively impacted the institution and its educational community:
1. Successful Digital Enablement: The implementation of Google Workspace has allowed the university to successfully advance its digital transformation process. The new licenses and tools provided have improved the management, monitoring and optimization of teachers' daily times and processes, driving efficiency and productivity in the educational environment.
2. Improved Teaching and Learning Experience: Thanks to the personalized training offered by Xertica, teachers and students have acquired solid skills in the use of Google Workspace for Education. This has allowed for greater interaction and collaboration in the virtual classroom, facilitating the creation of educational content, effective communication and the exchange of resources between teachers and students. As a result, the quality of the teaching and learning experience has been strengthened.
3. Increased Efficiency and Productivity: The adoption of Google Workspace for Education has allowed teachers to optimize their daily tasks, saving time and resources. Integrated collaboration, communication, and project management tools have simplified lesson planning, materials creation and delivery, and student assessment. This has freed up additional time for teachers to focus on higher-value activities, such as research and the development of new teaching methodologies and strategies.
4. Satisfaction and Positive Feedback: A satisfaction survey was carried out among teachers to evaluate the effectiveness of the project; The results revealed a high level of satisfaction and appreciation on the part of the teaching staff, who highlighted the relevance and usefulness of the training provided. The positive feedback received demonstrates the tangible impact of the project on the educational community and its commitment to continuous improvement.
