Google returns home

Gmail, Google's email provider, has spread throughout the world as the main user-level email tool in the world. It is not exceptional to find personal emails under the domain @gmail.com among our contacts. Certainly, the Gmail experience of millions of people is an initial enabler for the adoption of Google Workspace, Google Cloud's communication and collaboration platform.

Pandero's business, being based on the financing of vehicles and homes to individuals - goods typically acquired by young and middle-aged people and families - requires the constant search for means that bring the company ever closer to its customers. through digital channels. This search was what led Pandero to reevaluate what office tool it had for the productivity of its collaborators.

At that time, the company used Office 365; However, the incidents with support cases that began to arise, added to the fact that the platform did not provide solutions in terms of communication and collaboration, led Pandero to make the decision to return to Google Workspace thanks to the Xertica partnership. As Frank Jarrín, Manager of Information Technologies and Processes at Pandero, says, “there were three competitive advantages that made the difference in choosing Google Workspace: simplicity, collaboration and performance.” Thus, given that many collaborators already had the experience of intuitive and self-managed learning in the use of Gmail, the initial adoption of Google Workspace was favored.

Sales do not stop despite Covid-19

In the words of Frank Jarrín himself, “it has been prescient to adopt Google Workspace.” Since mid-March 2020, a general mandatory quarantine was observed in Peru that affected thousands of businesses that had not been internally enabled by a formal remote work or digital workplace practice. This was not the case with Pandero. Although the company quickly adopted email, the Google Workspace platform includes a series of tools that had to be adopted to boost the productivity and communication of its collaborators. In that sense, Xertica played a fundamental role in helping the organization adopt these communication and collaboration tools.

Jarrín points out that, since the second week in which the quarantine began, the adaptation to the new normal of remote work extended to the entire organization: “The experience is very positive. Having returned to Google and this new Google Workspace has helped us to be prepared for an event of this type (quarantine), as well as to increase and accelerate the collaboration of the people who work for Pandero, both internally and in communication and service. to clients. I have found cases in which officials and sales teams have called meetings with clients and prospects through Meet.”

Now more than ever, Pandero uses Meet frequently. The executive recalls that “I just participated in a meeting via Meet in the morning to recognize efforts during 2019 in which - from start to finish - there were 85 people connected simultaneously.

The company's C-levels have led by example with the practice of keeping the camera on in Meet meetings and the public use of Calendar for everyone. Without a doubt, adoption has accelerated: people began to discover the use of Sites, to project dashboards linked to Sheets with Data Studio. Likewise, an application has been designed where, through a survey built with Forms, sellers can quickly make their evaluation and it will be recorded in Sheets.

For Pandero, maintaining solid communication, contact and attention with its clients and prospects is key to the continuity of its sales and the general functioning of the business. In this sense, Frank Jarrín highlights: “We are the only company in the sector that, thanks to Google technology - together with other strategic partners - has been able to continue selling and serving remotely. “We have more than 114 new contracts in the month of April.”

A digital enablement and optimization that goes beyond quarantine

The spread of Covid-19 is leading many companies to begin designing formal remote work policies, regardless of the quarantine in different countries being lifted. Thus, Pandero plans to return to its physical offices, but progressively and maintaining a teleworking practice segmented by groups and shifts.

Beyond the security protocols and the technical facilities for remote access, there is the fact of evolving: it does not only have to do with office automation, with access and connectivity, but also with collaboration and a change in culture that promote.

Frank Jarrín concludes: “The impact is not only in this transition or quarantine. The impact on work ends up being very positive because it has led us to something that is part of Google's culture: pushing us to exponentially question ways to adapt and do things better. So, this has impacted us in the transition, quarantine and into the future.”
